[Solved] Microsoft Edge Icon Disappeared from Taskbar

Microsoft always introduces innovation and surprises its users. Microsoft Edge Browser is one of the innovative web browsers as it replaced internet explorer as the default web browser for windows 10. It is designed to make user’s experience easier and to offer seamless browsing.

Fix The Microsoft Edge Icon Disappeared Issue


#1 Pin It Again To The Taskbar

You should really try this method at first hand as it is the most effective one. In this, we will learn how you can pin the browser’s icon again to the taskbar. Follow along:

  • Go to the Windows search bar and type Microsoft Edge
  • It will be in the results just in a few seconds
  • Right-click the browser’s icon and choose Pin to taskbar

#2 Use System File Checker

If you were unable to pin the browser’s icon to the taskbar due to any reason, then you can try this method. It is effective when the first one fails.

  • Access the search menu of Windows and type cmd
  • It will open up the Command Prompt

  • There type this tiny command: sfc /scannow and hit Enter
  • It will scan for any malicious files and repair them itself in a minute. Lastly, you will get the results and this way you get it solved.

#3 Use Powershell To Fix The Issue

If you still do not see the Microsoft Edge icon then try this effective solution where we will use the Powershell and fix this trouble. The icon disappearance will be no more; you just go with these steps:

  • Access the search bar and type PowerShell
  • In the results, section choose PowerShell and let it open up
  • There in the black screen, put this command and hit enter:

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
